The life of Archbishop Valerian Maduka Okeke these seventy years has been undoubtedly phenomenal in content, impressive in impact and graciously splendid. In various contexts, greatness defines it.

He started out at St. Anthony's Catholic School, Umudioka, and St. Gabriel's Catholic School, Ifitedunu and then followed up with a secondary education at C.K.C., Onitsha.

Encomiums were showered on the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke as he celebrated his 20th Episcopal Anniversary.

SEASON OF ADVENT

Advent is the period of preparation for the comprehensive coming of our Lord, who comes to us daily in mystery through the sacraments, who comes to us through his nativity, and who comes to us at death as a judge, says the Archbishop, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke. He reminded us that at the end of this earthly journey, that we shall go back to God. He urged us not to be distracted by the pleasures of this passing world, which make us to forget the things of heaven that is eternal, but to use God’s gifts to us, in serving him well. The Church would always want us, through Advent, to be prepared and to be ready for the joys of heaven, that will last for ever. He prayed for all of us, to be prepared, that the blessings of God to be showering on each and everyone.
