27TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (YEAR B)

The perfect experience of the goodness of God-self is a work in progress and it is attained mediately through married love says Archbishop Valerian Okeke. He notes that God established marriage so that through it couples complement each other and attain complete happiness. Through the sacrificial and self-giving love of our individual families, couples re-enact the joy of the temporal paradise and anticipate the eternal communion with God in the heavenly paradise. He explains that marriage is sacramental and through it God transforms our propensity for selfishness, leading to triumph of love after the example of Christ. According to him, family love is nourished by forgiveness, understanding and dialogue, knowing that diversity enriches while division impoverishes and destroys. Diversity is divine and division devilish. He imparts his Episcopal blessings on us and wishes us a blessed new week.
