THE SACRAMENTS: OUR TREASURE

In our world today, there seems to be a growing indifference towards the Sacramental mystery and the sacraments are being relegated to secondary importance. Some see the sacraments as a distraction or an obstacle to their direct relationship with God. Now, given our responsibility to teach the undiluted faith, we consider it incumbent on us to offer these insights, clarifications, and teachings on the value of the sacraments hoping that adequate knowledge of the meaning of this mystery will lead us to a renewed appreciation and devotion to the sacraments. I hereby invite you to reflect with me on this topic – The Sacraments: Our Treasure from Christ.

PENTECOST SUNDAY (YEAR A)

Our finest gifts can become our worst sins or defects, if we do not act with love and allow ourselves to be guided by the Holy Sirit, says the Archbishop, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke. He invited us to a new relationship with the Holy Spirit who enlightens, directs and strengthens us. He prayed for a renewing anointing of the Holy Spirit to enkindle in us the fire of God’s love.
